Joseph M. Holt, President of Land Services, Inc. oversees the company-wide direction, growth and financial health of LSI. He directs business development and marketing strategies for the Oil and Gas and Right-of-Way Divisions as well as developing initiatives to engage in new growth markets.
Joe founded LSI in 1994 and through his leadership and experience, has led the company to year-over-year growth and profitability. He has been instrumental in attracting Michigan’s largest Oil and Gas clients to LSI. Additionally, Joe led the successful expansion of LSI acquiring a diverse client base in other states in the Midwest and Rocky Mountain regions.
In 1983 Joe assisted in the startup of PetroStar Energy, an oil and gas exploration company. As Manager of Investor Relations his responsibilities included overseeing two joint ventures in Colorado and Texas, which included multiple drilling programs. He also coordinated multi-state large land exchanges and leasing programs.
Professional affiliations include the Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce, the American and Michigan Associations of Professional Landmen (AAPL, MAPL), the Michigan Oil and Gas Association (MOGA) and the International Right of Way Association (IRWA). He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Lake Superior State University and is a licensed Michigan Real Estate Broker.
As the Abstract and Title Manager, Rhonda is responsible for the oversight of all abstracting and title as completed and compiled by independent brokers who research the county courthouse records for information regarding the chain of title for specific properties. She analyzes information, recorded and unrecorded, to assist in the determination as to the ownership of specific and complex property ownerships. In addition, Rhonda is responsible for managing all due diligence and DTO/DOTO curative projects. She drafts and reviews curative documents to resolve title problems in the preparation of drilling oil and gas wells and maintains LSI’s high quality control standards.
Rhonda began her career with Shell West E&P Inc. and has over 30 years’ experience in the title field as well as the oil and gas industry. She received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Ferris State University and a Juris Doctorate degree from Cooley Law School.
Andy, graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Central Michigan University with a major in Geographic Information Systems, Cartography, and Remote Sensing. Additionally, he also has a second major in Meteorology and a minor in Mathematics. Andrew has worked at Land Services, Inc. since June, 2011 as a GIS Cartographer and is responsible for making all client maps. Prior to joining Land Services, Inc. Andy worked at Gosling Czubak Engineering Sciences where he spent over six years as a Survey technician.
Prior to joining LSI, Mark worked in public accounting for 20 years. While at Dennis, Gartland & Niergarth, P.C., a Traverse City public accounting firm, he specialized in oil and gas accounting and taxation for 15 years. Mark maintains all accounting and human resource records for LSI. Additionally, he prepares useful and accurate job costing, budgeting and project profitability reports for our clients. Mark has a Master of Science in Accounting degree from Eastern Michigan University.
During her 11 years in the oil and gas industry, Sue has been responsible for all administrative functions involved in the processing and data collection for all acquired oil & gas leases, easements, title reports and related documents. She is further responsible for managing and maintaining the land software database and project acquisition reports for all documents acquired on behalf of our clients. Sue brings with her excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
