Andrew D. Baranek, GIS Cartographer

Andy utilizes over twelve years of experience in GIS, mapping, and surveying to create detailed GIS maps that are critical to any project.  In addition to providing leading edge mapping to our clients, office personnel and field Landmen, his other job duties include reviewing and writing legal descriptions, creating leases, creating spreadsheets, pulling and reviewing title, researching State DNR and DEQ websites and databases for various GIS available datum and creating and maintaining all GIS shapefiles.

Mapping Skills:  Highly skilled using various mapping programs, including ArcView 3.2, ArcMap 9.1, and ArcMap 9.3. Also experienced in the 3D-Analyst and Spatial Analyst extensions, and utilizing GIS principles such as georeferencing, creating and maintaining geodatabases, and raster processing. He also has mapping field experience using the Leica 1200 Real Time Kinematic GPS, Leica Robotic Total Station, Leica 705 Total Station, and Trimble Pro-XR GPS, as well as TDS and Leica GeoOffice software.  

Analytical Skills:  Exceptional problem solving skills pertaining to legal descriptions, reading surveys, and using the PLSS.

Communication Skills: Responsible for correspondence with clients and meeting their specific needs related to mapping.

Computer Skills:  Skilled in Microsoft Word and Excel, Microsoft Power Point, Macromedia Flash, Adobe Acrobat Standard 8.0, Photoshop, Windows XP and Windows 7. Experience using AutoCAD, C++ programming and Macromedia Dreamweaver.
